Contraindications
Due to the vibrations, there is a significant increase in blood flow to the muscles, therefore FLEXI-BAR® is not recommended for anyone suffering from any type of ACUTE injury.
Most acute injuries respond to cooling methods, like ICE. An acute injury is made worse with the application of heat. FLEXI-BAR® training creates heat in the muscles and therefore has the potential to make an acute injury worse.
If you are suffering from any type of CHRONIC injury, generally FLEXI-BAR® will have a positive effect. Chronic muscular injuries suffer from a lack of adequate blood supply to the injured area and consequent mobility issues associated with muscular weakness and atrophy (muscles getting smaller). The only time we would recomend against using FLEXI-BAR® to treat a chronic injury would be if the old injury has a "flare up" and becomes acutely inflamed, painful and swollen.
FLEXI-BAR® is not recommended for the following
- Acute Rheumatoid Arthritis (inflammation stage)
- Acute injuries e.g whiplash
- Acute Infections/Swelling
- Acute Back Pain
- 3rd Trimester Pregnancy
- After recent Operations
- Cardiovascular Disorders
FLEXI-SPORTS UK recommend that anyone embarking on a new fitness regime get the OK from their GP.
